1/350 USS Springfield SSN-761 (Yankee Modelworks)
I built this boat for an old friend that'll be taking command of this sub here in the near future. Out of all the kits out there this looked like the best offer for the 688i boats. Also this is my first resin kit. Takes a little extra work, the alignment of the rudders, dive planes, periscopes is all on you! Nothing is mated except the forward dive planes that you have to drill holes for. Enamel paints from Testors Model Master and WEM USN Hull Red and Deck Grey (mixed with black for the bow). Textured and layered paint for the non-skid. Anyway really pleased with the finished product. I'm tempted to buy the YKM 1/350 Ohio and tackle that next. Also the case is from Ron Baluch at Grandpa's Cabinets, always great work there! Have a fine navy day..!
